Part of the Neighborhood Along Nostrand Avenue

Nostrand Avenue is the main north-south commercial spine of Little Caribbean, a cultural district officially recognized by New York City in 2017, spanning parts of Crown Heights, Flatbush and Prospect Lefferts Gardens. The Nostrand Avenue station (served by the 3, with limited 2/5 service) is close to our Dean Street location. Every Labor Day, the West Indian American Day Carnival fills Eastern Parkway, one of the most distinctive events in Central Brooklyn, and part of the neighborhood we’re proud to be a part of.
Roughly 30% of Crown Heights residents are foreign-born, and more than two-thirds of those are from the Caribbean, giving the neighborhood one of the most varied Caribbean immigrant populations anywhere outside the West Indies itself. That history is visible up and down Nostrand Avenue, in the restaurants, the record shops, the churches, and the rhythm of daily life along the corridor.
